When you come across device manager errors such as “This Device Cannot Start (Code10)”, It is an indication that you now need to remove the upper filters and lower filters registry values for the good. If the filters are not deleted sooner, They can remain as leftovers even after the programs are uninstalled from your system. They continue to corrupt Many indispensable software and services in the background.

In this tutorial, we will show you a quick step-by-step tutorial on how to remove the upper filters and lower filters registry values from windows 10.

NOTE: The method explained below is valid for all Windows Operating systems, namely 7,8,10,11.

TIP: Deleting and changing Registry info seems quite simple and straightforward, but even a small mistake in your effort can hamper your entire system on various levels. So if you are not comfortable with it, refrain from doing it, or first learn how to change, add, and delete registry data in the Windows Registry Editor

# METHOD DESCRIPTION

Step 1. Press the “Windows + R” keys together to open the Run Windows at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Step 2. Enter “regedit” and hit “Enter”. The Registry Editor Windows will open up before you.

NOTE: You can also your command prompt to open Registry Editor.

Step 3. On the left side of the panel, look for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive. Click on it to expand the option.

Step 4. Now continue to click on SYSTEM> CURRENTCONTROLSET>CONTROL>CLASS.

Step 5. Once the Class option is expanded. You will get to see a long list of subkeys. Click on the option that looks like this one :

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Step 6. Now comes the real deal. You have to look and figure out the Class GUID for the hardware device that you are seeing the device manager error code for. For instance, you are shown the Code 39 error in Device Manager. Now as per the list above, it is the GUID for the CD/DVD devices:

4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

The moment you know exactly the GUID, click on it and move on to the next step.

NOTE: Sometimes it is difficult to determine the exact GUID for your error. The only suggestion that might work for you is that the difference lies usually in the first set of numbers or letters and not the last.

Step 7. Choose the registry subkey that you have just figured out to match the device class’s GUID.

Step 8. Now, look at the Upperfilter and Lowerfilters values on the right side of the Windows.

TIP: In case none of the values appear on the right side list, check for the correct device class. You must have mistakenly chosen the right one. You can also try some other methods to fix the errors.

Step 9. Now right-click on the Upperfilter value, click “Delete” and select “Yes” to the notification “Deleting certain registry values could cause system instability. Are you sure you want to permanently delete this value?” to confirm your choice. Repeat the same for the Lowerfilter value also.

Step 10. Double-check that the Upperfilter and Lowerfilter options are not shown in the list anymore. So exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer to it a fresh start.

Step 11. Finally, check if removing the registry keys has really sorted out your problem or not.

Conclusion:

In certain cases, you may need to reinstall the software created to use the device you have deleted the Upperfilter and Lowerfilter values for. So, check if it really works for you or not.

If none of these suggestions works in your favor, consult an expert right away since unnecessary tampering with your registry keys persistently may worsen the situation further than really solving it.

Apart from having a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) technology in your computer, you still need the secure boot feature enabled to upgrade your current operating system to Windows 11.

But before we dig deeper to the discussion, it is necessary to understand what this Secure Boot feature is.

What is Secure Boot?

In a nutshell, it is a feature introduced by Microsoft in UEFI-based computers. If activated and fully configured, this feature can resist malware and attacks from unknown sources.

It detects abrupt tampering with boot loaders, unauthorized ROM options by checking their digital signatures. The detected issues are then blocked to fortify the system from unprecedented malware infection.

Secure Boot only allows the PC to boot with reliable software from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
But regardless of all the beneficial experiences, the feature obstructs you if enabled from running operating systems like Linux.
In this article, we will walk you through ways to first check if it is enabled or not to the ways to upgrade your OS using Secure Boot.

How to Check Secure Boot If Enabled or Disabled?

Just go through the steps detailed below, and make sure to stick to it to avoid any firmware mayhem.

Step 1. Go to the “search” option and type “System Information”.
Step 2. Select the top option from the search result.
Step 3. From the left side pane, click on the “System Summary” option.
Step 4. Now, check the “Secure Boot State”. If it shows ON, it is obviously Enabled. If it displays OFF, it is Disabled or unavailable in some cases.

How to Enable the Secure Mode Feature?

If the Secure Boot feature is disabled, then surely you can enable it, provided your BIOS set-up is UEFI.

NOTE: This method is a bit risky since altering the incorrect firmware settings can hinder your system from booting appropriately. So you need to have a good reason to access your motherboard if needed. Above all, you should be aware of what you are doing and then proceed with caution.

Step 1. Go to “Settings”.
Step 2. Click on the “Update and Security” button.
Step 3 Click on the “Recovery” option.
Step 4. Now look for the “Advanced Startup” section, check for the “Restart Now” button, and then click on it.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8231" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 5. On the blue screen that shows up next, click on the “Troubleshoot” option.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8232" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/3-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 12. Exit your UEFI or Settings page interface and confirm the changes you just made to reboot your computer.
After your system restarts, you will find this feature enabled on your computer.

Now your device is ready for an upgrade to Windows 11 OS version.

Conclusion:
As a matter of fact, you can enable the Secure Boot by booting into the UEFI boot mode during the startup, instead of tampering with the Settings.

Secure Boot enabling is all about giving you the access to upgrade your current OS to Windows 11. But before you set out to do that, make sure that the Windows 11 preview will be a helpful and suitable operating system environment or not.

In case it turns out to be an impediment after your upgrade, there is a guided article on this website where you can learn how to roll back to Windows 10 version from Windows 11.

If you are not satisfied with the current status of freshly installed Windows 11 on your computer, there are two ways to switch back to Windows 10 version.

YES……….. It is possible.

Although, the Windows 11 previews are already available on various platforms which instigated many users to install it on their devices. Yet, there might surface some issues related to compatibility, bugs, etc since these are pre-releases that are often released with unfinished features. This, in the long run, can affect your system negatively.

So, if you are confronting troubles with your recent build, and wish to roll back to the stable Windows 10 OS version, you can do that, provided certain conditions are met in the process.

The process of switching back to Windows 10 depends on the way you upgraded your system in the first place. You can use the Recovery Settings, where the backup created the previous installation of Windows 10 automatically while you were upgrading the system. The only issue is that the backup is available for only 10 days after the upgrade is done. After this period, the system will automatically remove the backup installation file to free up space.

In case, this option is not available anymore, there is still an alternative to roll back to Windows 10. But you have to perform full re-installation of the system.

In this article, we will walk you through both the ways, first via Recovery Settings, and second by full reinstallation.

Method #1: How to Rollback to Windows 10 via Settings

As mentioned earlier, this method is only applicable within 10 days of your upgrade. So, if you are in that period, follow the steps of this method:

Step 1. Go to “Settings”.
Step 2. Click on the “System” option.
Step 3. Click on the “Recovery” panel on the right side.

Step 4. Under the “Recovery options” on the right side, click on the “Go back” button in the “Previous version of Windows”.

NOTE: In case, this option is not available, then you are left with no choice but to perform a reinstallation of the OS.
Step 5. A blue screen with various options will turn up. Tick the “Earlier builds seemed more reliable” checkbox.

Step 6. Click the “Next” button.
Step 7. Click the “No, thanks” option on being asked for more updates.

Step 8. Again, click the “Next” button.

Step 9. Click the “Next” button on the “Don’t get locked out” page.

Step 10. Finally, on the last page of successive operations, click the “Go back to earlier build button”.

Once you are done with these steps, the system will revert back to the previous Windows 10 OS version using the back installation file.

Though, the process does really do the wonder but don’t rely on it completely. Always keep a backup on a hard drive or cloud storage device. So that you don’t have to wait for this 10 days shortage period. You can do perform the same job 10 days later also.

Method #2: How to Roll back to Windows 10 Via Reinstallation

If it’s been more than 10 days since you upgraded to Windows 11 OS, the system has most probably removed the necessary files from the previous installation. In that case, the only plausible way to degrade back to Windows 10 is to perform a reinstallation of Windows 10.
Use the steps detailed below with utter precision to avoid any technical mishap:

Step 1. Go to “Windows 10 download” page.
Step 2. Click the “Download tool now” option under the “Create Windows 10 install media” label.

Step 3. Now, you have to double-click the “MediaCreationTool21H1.exe” file. This will commence the setup.
Step 4. Click on the “Accept” button and then choose the “Upgrade this PC now” option.

Step 5. So, click the “Next” button again, and then the “Accept” button once more. Quite a pesky job I know…##@@
Step 6. Now, choose the “Nothing” option as we are about to do a clean and total reinstallation.

Step 7. Click the “Next” and then the “Install” button.

And this is where it actually ends.

Sigh of relief.

So, once these many steps are completed, Windows 10 OS will be restored on your computer as the fresh operating system installation.
Now, you have to create a new user account, configure your preferences. You can then try fetching the previous personal files from your backup IF POSSIBLE.

Conclusion:

Let’s just suppose, you don’t wish to follow the long tracks of the second method, then alternatively, you can use USB media to perform the same reinstallation. The only condition, in this case, is that you need to possess an already prepared USB stick with Windows 10 installation files.
How to do that?
Well, we will discuss it in another article. Till then, try the methods discussed above, and keep visiting our website to follow up more guided articles.

If you have purchased a new device, it usually comes with Windows 10 preinstalled and activated with a license. But, if you are about to build a brand new system by purchasing and assembling parts yourself, then you may need to provide Windows 10 license might cost you nearly a hundred or more dollars.

Ok, now let’s just suppose, you already have a system installed with Windows 10 OS fully activated. Then it’s just a matter of transferring the license from the older device to your newer device, and this can be done easily. Not only that, it will save you a lot of bucks and unnecessary troubles.

This trick to transferring an existing Windows 10 license to another device not just saves your money, it also comes in handy, especially when you are planning to sell your old computer and purchase a new one.

But before we begin to learn the method explained below, make sure to first learn how you obtained the Windows license in the first place. Mark my words, that seriously matters under Microsoft’s rules.

So, first, you need to make sure if your Windows 10 product key or license is transferrable or not.

How to Know if you can Transfer the Windows 10 license to a New Device?

Microsoft usually tends to distribute its license through various channels. But the most common of all such channels are Retail and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), through which a consumer can obtain the product key.

If you had obtained a Retail license, then you are the rightful consumer, entitled to transfer your product key. You can also use the product key while upgrading from Windows 8.1 or 7 to Windows 10 version.

But in case, you got the Windows 10 OS pre-installed while purchasing from your laptop, which usually these days come with pre-installed operating systems, then it is the case of OEM license.

In this case, your product isn’t transferable. Let’s suppose, if you have purchased an upgrade off the Microsoft Store while upgrading from Windows 10 pro to home edition, then you can transfer the license later on to a new device. This becomes possible because the product key turns into a digital key synched with your Microsoft Account.

How to Transfer Product Key from one Computer to Another?

This scenario is only possible when you have a retail license that is transferable. You just have to wear out the operating system from the previous computer and apply it to the new computer.

Deactivate Windows 10 from the previous setup

Step 1. Type “cmd” in the Windows search button.
Step 2. On the top result shown as “Command prompt”, right-click to select “Run as administrator”. This will allow you to access all the features of the tool.
Step 3. When the black dialogue box of cmd turns up, type the following command to remove the current product key and hit “Enter”.
slmgr /upk

NOTE: If the “Uninstalled product key successfully” message doesn’t turn up, that means you need to run the command one more time.
Step 4. Next, type the following command to clear the license once and for all from the registry and then hit “Enter”.
slmgr /cpky

Once you have done this much, the product key can now be used in any new device.

Activate Windows 10 on a New Device

Step 1. Open Start.
Step 2. Type “Cmd” and right-click the top result shown to select “Run as administrator”.
Step 3. On the black cmd screen, type the following command to resume your product key and hit “Enter”:
slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

NOTE: In this command, xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx denotes the product key that you are supposed to write.
Step 4. Next, type the following command to confirm the product key activation and hit “Enter”:
slmgr /dlv

Step 5. Immediately, you will get a confirmation status, where it will be displayed that your Windows 10 is fully activated in the new device.
In the meantime, you may need to restart your computer once to complete the protocol.

Conclusion:

One more important thing to add in this context is that when you remove your license from the old setup, it won’t remove the activation from the Microsoft servers. Rather, the process will stop the detection of the same product key on the device, allowing you to reactivate it on another device.

The reactivation of the product key can also be done using your Microsoft account, provided you do possess a Microsoft account.

If you have been using Windows OS for the past few years, then you must be familiar with the Character map tool, which gives you a platform to use different characters or symbols to insert in documents and chats.

The operating Window of the character editor will open up.

Way #2: Access using Run

Step 1. Press “Windows logo + R” keys together from keyboard, and the small search box of “Run” will pop up at the bottom left corner of the exisiting screen.

Step 3. On the next Window, Type “Private Character Editor” as the name of the shortcut you are creating, and click “Finish” to finalize it.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8188" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/8-1.png" alt="6 Different Ways to Access Private Character Editor in Windows 10?

Local Group Policy Editor is an in-built Microsoft management tool that is often used to configure group policy settings.

There are multiple ways in which the policy editor can be put into use. For instance, you can control the shutdown and log-in processes; you can change system settings, application settings, etc.

Conclusion:

If you are unable to access or open this tool, it could mean that you have a home edition of Windows which does not include Group Policy Editor. Microsoft considers that a power user gets a more powerful Windows edition. On a precise note, you can only find this default program in Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise; Windows 7 Professional; Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise; Windows 8.1 Professional and Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

But if you are still having problems opening it despite having a home edition, there could be some technical problems. Seek a bit of expert advice on such occasions.

One of the most frustrating aspects of using Windows OS (Windows 10 in our case) is that it never elaborates the reason for any particular error that occurs out of the blue, especially the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) errors.
For instance, Error Code 0xc00000e in Windows 10 is one such BSOD issue that is displayed with a blue screen along with the following error code on the screen.

The source of this error is still not accurately known, but in most cases, it is noted to have turned up during hardware malfunctioning or due to corrupt files responsible for booting up OS.

To put it in simple ways, it occurs when Windows 10 fails to locate a specific boot manager file known as winload.exe due to hardware device or system file corruption.

Can it be fixed?

Surely, it can be fixed.

The methods are mentioned below.

METHOD #1: Use Windows 10 Automatic Repair Tool

It is a native Windows 10 tool that you will find pre-installed. It can fix many other error codes also, but we will use it to fix error code 0xc00000e here.
Read the steps below:

Step 1. Turn off your PC and then turn it on again.
Step 2. When the system logo appears on the screen, press the F2 function key to start the boot menu.
Step 3. Once you have accessed the boot menu, change the boot menu option to CD/DVD or USB, whichever bootable disk is available to you.
Step 4. Insert the disk according to its availability, and immediately restart your computer. The system will boot from the option you had set previously in the boot menu.
Step 5. As soon as the repair/ install process begins, after you hit any random key from the keyboard, the real thing starts now.
Step 6. On the first screen, choose language, time zone, keyboard input method.
Step 7. On the next screen, click the “Repair your computer” option from the bottom left corner.
Step 8. Next, click the “Troubleshooting” option and then the “Advanced” option.

Step 9. Finally, click the “Automatic Repair” button to commence the repairing issue.
Now, the process will take some time to complete. So be patient, and don’t abort the process in the middle.
In case, if this method doesn’t work out, then move on to the next method.

METHOD #2: Rebuild Boot Configuration Data file in Windows 10

Boot Configuration Data or shortly abbreviated as BCD is a particular system file that commands the OS how to boot your computer. If BCD is corrupted, then this error is bound to occur.
For this method, you would need the Windows installation disk like the previous method.
Read the steps below:

Step 1. Firstly, boot your OS using Windows 10 OS install CD/DVD or USB like explained the last method.
Step 2. When the setup page turns up, choose the time zone, language, input method, and then the “Next” button.
Step 3. Now from the next page, click on the “Repair your computer” link from the bottom left corner of the screen. Then click on the “Troubleshoot” option, next “Advanced options”.

Step 4. Select “command prompt”.
Step 5. Now when the black screen appears, enter the following command and hit “Enter”:

bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrect /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd

Now, restart your computer to complete the process. This will fix your BCD issue for certain.
Still not working? Don’t waste your time, switch to the next method.

Method #3: Configuration Reset of BIOS/UEFI

This issue may arise due to misconfiguration of BIOS also. In order to fix it, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Restart your computer and when the manufacturer logo turns up, press keys like F2, Del, Esc, etc to access the BIOS settings. This key varies for different devices.
(NOTE: If you are not sure about which key to press, Google it by your device model number.)
Step 2. Use the arrow keys to find the “Default option”.
Step 3. Click on this position and then hit the “Enter” button on your keyboard. This simple task will reset your BIOS configuration.
Step 4. Save the new setup and exit BIOS.
Once your exit, your device will automatically restart and the issue is most likely to be sorted out.

Conclusion:
If none of the aforementioned methods work in your favor, then you should either replace the CMOS battery right away or get your computer checked by any technician. The problem could also arise due to the wrong installation of OS, something which you may not be able to figure out on your own. So definitely you would need expert advice.
One last piece of advice…..Don’t try to assert your expertise if you are not fully confident about what you are doing exactly. This may lead to serious mayhem.

Consider you are going to a remote location or traveling on a flight, and you need to disable all your wireless connections on Windows 10 laptop right away (like, Wi-fi, GPS and cellular, Bluetooth, Near field communication (NFC)) with a single option. Then Airplane-mode on your Windows 10 OS is the exact right option.

It is a special feature which was previously allowed on mobile phone but is not incorporated within Windows OS also. It not only disables your radio signals broadcasting from your device but also saves battery life to an optimal extent since your device won’t have to transmit signals to any nearby towers or networks.

Now, in Windows 10, there are total five ways to activate or deactivate this Airplane-Mode. Few of them are direct ways which you must be familiar with already, few indirect ways, which you may not be familiar with. So we will explain them all here in this article.

#1: Using Function Keys

Functions keys are usually the keys present at the top most rack of keyboards, and one at the bottom left corner depending upon the brand of device you are using lately, we all know that.
Now, simply press the “function key + Airplane key” together and your Airplane mode will be enabled.
Use the same combination again to disable it if needed.

#2: Using Action Center

It’s basically a location in the taskbar at the bottom right corner with a square-shaped icon, where you will find app notifications and quick action options.
Read the step to enable Airplane mode from Action center:

Step 1. Click on the Action Center icon from the bottom right corner.
(NOTE: Alternatively, you can use Windows key + A combination to open it.)
Step 2. Click the expand option if required.
Step 3. Ther you will find many buttons already visible. Click the “Airplane-Mode” button to turn on the feature.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8150" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/1-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable and Disable Airplane-Mode on Windows 10? Step 4. Click on the button one more time, and it will be disabled.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-8151" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/2.png" alt="How to Enable and Disable Airplane-Mode on Windows 10?
#3: Using Network Flyout

It is an icon shown at the bottom right corner of your taskbar. It displays all available networks. Right under the network availability notifications, you will see the Airplane mode.
Read the steps below:

Step 1. Click the Network Flyout icon.
Step 2. Click the Airplane Mode button and it will be activated.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8152" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/3-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable and Disable Airplane-Mode on Windows 10? Step 3. To disable it, click the icon one more time.

#4: Using Settings

The settings application is the storehouse where you can change anything you want. But here we would use it to enable or disable Airplane mode on Windows 10.
Here comes the steps.

Step 1. Firstly, open the “Settings” app and click on the “Network and Internet” tab from the left side panel.
Step 2. Click on the “Airplane mode” option.
Step 3. Now on the right-side panel, click to toggle on the Airplane mode.

Click on it again to disable it if required.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8155" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/6-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable and Disable Airplane-Mode on Windows 10?
#5: Using Command Prompt

Command Prompt is Window’s command-line program which here can be used to enable Airplane mode. All that you need to do is to type certain commands and the mode will be activated instantly.
Read the step descriptions below:

Step 1. Type cmd in the search bar.
Step 2. From the results that appear, right-click the cmd optionand select “Run as administrator”. The black Window of cmd will open up.
Step 3. Now, enter the following command and hit the “enter” key:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\RadioManagement\SystemRadioState /ve /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Step 4. Reboot the computer to complete the process.
Step 5. Now to disable the Airplane mode, type the following command and hit “Enter”:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\RadioManagement\SystemRadioState /ve /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Step 6. Again, reboot the system to complete the deactivation process.

Conclusion:

Although, the methods mentioned above will work fine, but sometimes, it may not turn on or off, or the feature may appear grayed out.
On such ocassions, try to troubleshoot the computer by restarting the system and following the usual troubleshooting procedures.
Alternatively, you can also reset the network settings or updating the network adapter might prove to be helpful on such scenarios.

Windows registry is one of the most sensitive databases, which houses all system settings that your computer needs to run for different software or even to boot your computer while starting.

It is highly advised not to meddle with this database. Even the slightest change in registry keys can render serious issues. You may not be able to start your computer; certain default programs may crash, programs may even start to malfunction: you may lose indispensable data also, etc.

Keeping in note all these conditions, it is always recommended to keep a backup of this database. Although there are several methods involving third-party tools. But here in this article, we will show you ways of using system restore to easily backup and restore your registry database.

How to Backup Entire Registry utilizing System Restore?

System Restore is a Windows default program designed to repair and protect system software. It usually takes “snapshots” of certain system files, like registry keys, etc, and stores them as restore points for later use if need be, like restoring the entire PC to working condition if any system corruption or mayhem occurs without your notice.

Now here in this method, we will use this very same System Restore tool to first backup our entire registry database and later will restore it back.

Step guidelines are given below:

Step 1: Go to “Start”.
Step 2: Search for “Create a restore point” in the search bar, and choose the topmost option in the search result.
Step 3: Click on the “System” drive under the “Protection Settings” tab.
Step 4: Next, click the “Configure” option.

(5)" width="412" height="468" srcset="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/5.jpg 412w, https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/5-264x300.jpg 264w" sizes="(max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px" />

And you are done for the time being.
A copy of your registry has been created, which you can use later on to revert your settings to normalcy or repair system concussions while booting up.

How To Restore Registry Using System Restore?

Since we already have a backup of the registry, here we will only focus on restoring just the database.
We can either pull it off from desktop or from Advanced Startup Environment.
Oh, relax, we will show you both the ways in detail.
Just stick to the steps to avoid any mishaps:

Restore Registry from Desktop:

Step 1: Go to “start” and type “create a restore point” in the search bar, and select the topmost option.
Step 2: In the operating Windows that shows up, click the “System Restore” button.
Step 3: Click the “Next” button.

Step 4: Now choose the restore point that we had created in the first place, which stores the backup of the registry database.

Step 5: Finally, click the “Next” button and then “Finish”.

Restore Registry in Recovery

In case, your pc is unable to boot into Windows 10, then you need to access the Advanced System Environment to make use of System Restore to restore the registry database backup. Now, this too can be done in two ways:

#1: Accessing Recovery Without any Bootable Disk

Step 1: Switch on your computer and as soon as the Windows logo button appears, press the “Power” button immediately. This trick interrupts the booting process.
Step 2: Now, you have to repeat this interruption trick 2 to 3 times until opens into the Advanced Startup Environment.
Step 3: In the blue screen, click the “Troubleshoot” button.

Step 4: Choose the “System Restore” option.

Step 5: Select your target OS, if you have multiple OS installed. Like “Windows 10” in the present case.

Step 6. Click the “Next” option and then choose the restore point with the Registry backup we had created previously.

Step 7. Eventually, click the “Next” button and then the “Finish” button.

After you are done, your entire registry will be restored and you shall be able to boot Windows 10.

#2: Accessing Recovery with Bootable Disk

To proceed with this method, you need to possess a bootable pen drive or CD/DVD disk with pre-installed Windows 10 installation files.

Step 1: Insert the pen drive into the right place, switch on your PC, and press any key to proceed.
(NOTE: Before you continue, make sure that your computer is set to boot from the connected media. Otherwise, you have to change the booting configuration from the BIOS/CMOS settings.)
Step 2: Click the “Next” button.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8141" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/14.jpg" alt="How to Backup & Restore Windows 10 Registry?
Step 5: Click the “System Restore” option.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8144" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/17.jpg" alt="How to Backup & Restore Windows 10 Registry?
Step 6: Choose your target OS, like Windows 10 in our case.
Step 7: Click the “Next” button.
Step 8: Choose the “Restore point” we have already created.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8145" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/19.jpg" alt="How to Backup & Restore Windows 10 Registry?

Step 9: Finally click the “Next” and then the “Finish” button.

Once all the steps are executed, your registry will be restored. You can now find your way to start your computer.

Conclusion:

In the latest updates of Windows 10, restore points will be created automatically during system updates, and app installs. This you can use later to revert your system to previous conditions.
In addition to system protection tools, there is a Registry Export option also from the file menu to create a full registry backup. Although it is not mentioned in this article, you can give it a try.
But make sure to create a backup always.

With every hour ticking away, we invite various online security risks these days. Whether you are chatting on social media platforms, using messaging apps like Whatsapp (which has the severity of risk factors), etc, someone is always there to trespass into your private territory.
Now just because you are not a technical geek, doesn’t mean that you should succumb to such risks.

Let me tell you HOW?

Signal Messaging Application is one such highly encrypted messaging platform, unlike Whatsapp, or any other social conferencing application, which has gained popularity exponentially in the recent few months.

Why Signal?

A very relevant question. Well, the app utilizes its own end-to-end encrypted protocol, open-source.
It’s not owned by a profitable organization like Facebook(owner of Whatsapp), etc, rather owned by a non-profitable organization (CEO Brian Acton, co-founder of Whatsapp).

Moreover, you don’t have to set up your settings for such an encrypted protocol after installation. You will find it enabled by default. As a result, no unwanted punks can drop into group chats, video conferencing without your permission.

Guess what? Suppose, you don’t want certain chats on spree, they can be disappeared with a certain feature. Cool, Right?
And since it’s an open-source tool, its source code audited on a regular basis.

How to Start Using Signal on your Phone?

Now, let’s start the real talk about the tool.
How to commence its usage.
Pretty Simple..@@#@@!

Step #1: Download the application to your preferred platform- iOS, Windows, Android, macOS.
NOTE: Make sure that you have got the application installed first on your Android before you wish to use it on your desktop of laptop. It will not work otherwise.

Step #2: Launch the tool and register with your accessible phone number.
One more Head’s up: Be sure before allowing the Signal app to access your personal contacts in the terms and conditions panel.

Step #3: A verification code will be dispatched to your phone via SMS, or email.
