Increaseing Pagefile or virtual memory will only work when you have very little ram. (around 1GB)

This is due to the fact that when the system uses up or uses most of the RAM is defaults to using the hard disk as RAM or a Pagefile. Unfortunatly Hard Disks are alot slower than RAM thus causing your system to slow down tremendously, so this will not cause any difference in performance for anyone with more than 2GB of ram.

I really would only increase the pagefile size if you are experiencing computer crashes when your all your RAM is being utilised as the pagefile may not be big enough to store any excess data.
