So if you are not comfortable with it, refrain from doing it, or first learn how to change, add, and delete registry data in the Windows Registry Editor

# METHOD DESCRIPTION

Step 1. Press the “Windows + R” keys together to open the Run Windows at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Step 2. Enter “regedit” and hit “Enter”. The Registry Editor Windows will open up before you.

NOTE: You can also your command prompt to open Registry Editor.

Step 3. On the left side of the panel, look for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive. Click on it to expand the option.

Step 4. Now continue to click on SYSTEM> CURRENTCONTROLSET>CONTROL>CLASS.

Step 5. Once the Class option is expanded. You will get to see a long list of subkeys. Click on the option that looks like this one :

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Step 6. Now comes the real deal. You have to look and figure out the Class GUID for the hardware device that you are seeing the device manager error code for. For instance, you are shown the Code 39 error in Device Manager. Now as per the list above, it is the GUID for the CD/DVD devices:

4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

The moment you know exactly the GUID, click on it and move on to the next step.

NOTE: Sometimes it is difficult to determine the exact GUID for your error. The only suggestion that might work for you is that the difference lies usually in the first set of numbers or letters and not the last.

Step 7. Choose the registry subkey that you have just figured out to match the device class’s GUID.

Step 8. Now, look at the Upperfilter and Lowerfilters values on the right side of the Windows.

TIP: In case none of the values appear on the right side list, check for the correct device class. You must have mistakenly chosen the right one. You can also try some other methods to fix the errors.

Step 9. Now right-click on the Upperfilter value, click “Delete” and select “Yes” to the notification “Deleting certain registry values could cause system instability. Are you sure you want to permanently delete this value?” to confirm your choice. Repeat the same for the Lowerfilter value also.

Step 10. Double-check that the Upperfilter and Lowerfilter options are not shown in the list anymore. So exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer to it a fresh start.

Step 11. Finally, check if removing the registry keys has really sorted out your problem or not.

Conclusion:

In certain cases, you may need to reinstall the software created to use the device you have deleted the Upperfilter and Lowerfilter values for. So, check if it really works for you or not.

If none of these suggestions works in your favor, consult an expert right away since unnecessary tampering with your registry keys persistently may worsen the situation further than really solving it.

Step 9. Select paste in the new folder and the images are copied here on your PC.

Conclusion:

There is an alternative method, you can transfer images from iPhone to Windows 10 PC over iCloud. But for that, you first need to set up iCloud Photo library software on your Windows PC. This will provide a direct server-to-server connection like the one Apple users get in the Apple ecosystem.

Clear your agenda and prepare yourself to veg out on the sofa because this article lists the most highly anticipated TV series and music festivals that you can’t possibly miss.

In fact, you may miss out on episodes of House of the Dragon or won’t be able to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers rock on stage at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Why? Because when you travel abroad, you may find yourself geographically locked out of your streaming subscriptions. And if you’re at work or school, you might find yourself blocked by firewalls and network restrictions.

Imagine taking your streaming service subscription anywhere or being able to unblock shows at school or work. It would be great, wouldn’t it?

What if we told you there’s no need to wish for it? You can make the most out of your streaming subscription when you have CyberGhost VPN in your streaming line-up.

CyberGhost is a top VPN provider with 8500+ servers in 90+ countries. It boasts one of the biggest server networks on the market and gives you plenty of locations to choose from. A single click or tap connects you instantly to secure servers — it’s as simple as that! Once you connect, you get a new IP address which helps you appear as though you are wherever you want to be in the world. This means you can still watch your favorite shows using your preferred streaming service.

Furthermore, CyberGhost VPN uses best-in-class encryption to help you securely access whatever you want to watch at school and work. Network administrators are known for eliminating distractions by blocking access to certain types of websites, including streaming services. When you connect to a CyberGhost server, your online activity is rerouted and completely encrypted, thereby allowing you to bypass the network restrictions. This means you can stream any show you want safely and privately.

No offense, but if you are visually impaired, or you have grown poor eyesight with age or excessive work sitting in front of a computer all day long, then this article will sail you through…..

Fortunately, Apple has got tons of Accessibility features that make altogether your device easier to use, and one of them is Zoom.

The feature invariably makes everything on your iPhone or iPad screen bigger, making it convenient for you to read. By default, it is set to 5x magnification, but you can change the setting to 1x or 2x also as per your need.

Once it is enabled, you can activate it on your screen whenever you want with gestures. Not only that, you can also pair it with VoiceOver to get further aid with your visual impediments.

Without any further ado, let’s begin the real-time discussion as to how to activate it.

#1: How to Enable/ Disable Zoom in Accessibility

The method is pretty simple. You first need to go to Settings to procure the Zoom feature from Accessibility. Read the steps below for a better understanding.

Step 1. Go to the “Settings” app and then tap “Accessibility” from the left side panel.

Step 2. Toggle the “Zoom” feature under the vision section.

Step 3. Now you can tap and drag the slider for maximum zoom level. Drag left to decrease and right to increase according to your requirement.

You can also toggle the Zoom button off to disable the feature.

Now once you have got it enabled, you can easily do the following things:

⦁ Double-tap with three fingers anywhere on the screen, the portion that you want to magnify, and the Zoom feature will come to display.

⦁ Tap the anchor, and choose “zoom-out” and the feature will be disabled for the time being. You can again tap your three fingers to activate it.

#2: How to Enable/ Disable Follow Focus and Smart Typing Feature

Follow focus feature actually comes to action when you start typing once enabled and follow along as you continue to type. Interesting, right? With this feature enabled, you don’t need to drag the Zoom panel manually. Read the steps to know how it’s done:

Step 1. As mentioned earlier go to the Zoom settings in the Accessibility panel.

Step 2. Now under this section, you will see the “Follow focus” and “Smart typing” option. Toggle them on, and you are good to go.

You can tap one more time to disable also. Do it when you needed.

Let’s explore one more feature of Zoom.

#3: How to Change Zoom Region?

This feature allows you to either zoom in a Window, which can be dragged anywhere all over the screen any particular portion of the screen or to zoom in the entire screen,

Step 1. Just go to the Zoom setting Window.

Step 2. Tap either the “Full-screen zoom” or “Window zoom” option to choose how exactly you wish to magnify your screen, You can alternate choices whenever you want. Just make sure that your Zoom feature is enabled right from the beginning.

Conclusion:

Even though you are not visually impaired, the zoom feature comes quite handy, especially when you are reading small scripts which are very hard to ascertain and recognize. In fact, it is better to use even if you are ok to avoid developing any visual ordeals.

Keep exploring more such Apple accessibility features, and let us know which one you want to see explained here on our website.

You would think watching sports events online should be as easy as ABC. Sadly, that’s not the case. Especially due to blackouts.

Blackouts happen when sports events are broadcast only on certain TV networks. Blackout policies serve to make people buy tickets to specific sports events or subscribe to cable TV channels with exclusive broadcast rights.

Die-hard sports fans in the U.S. can experience blackouts during NFL, MLB, and NBA games. Even with an active subscription to streaming platforms like NFL Game Pass, MLB TV, and NBA League Pass, you won’t be able to watch live games in certain regions. Live games air on cable television when cable providers like Comcast, Verizon, and Time Warner secure the broadcasting rights.

Let’s take a closer look at MLB blackouts. The MLB.TV app is known for offering access to every MLB game, but baseball fans still deal with blackouts. Why? Because regional networks hold exclusive broadcast rights for baseball games in the U.S.

For example, if you’re a Red Sox fan, you should know the games aren’t available for live streaming on the MLB.TV app in Boston. The New England TV channel NESN is the only one streaming the live event in the Boston area.

So, how do you stream sports events securely on any network without blackouts? The answer is simple: Use a VPN and watch your favorite games in a private, secure way. A reliable VPN provider comes jam-packed with servers scattered all over the world. Aside from a global network of servers, go for a VPN service that has servers in every single U.S. state. This will make it really easy to root for your favorite team.

Spoiler alert: Private Internet Access (PIA) has 50 servers in 50 U.S. states. This means, you can get an IP address in any state in the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska!

How to Stream Sports Events with PIA VPN

Sports broadcasters apply blackouts based on your location. They can determine your location by checking your IP address.

How does PIA VPN help you watch sports in a safe, private way without blackouts? It masks your IP address and assigns you a new one. Imagine the following scenario: you’re in Los Angeles and want to watch the Clippers or Lakers games using NBA League Pass.

Problem: you won’t be able to stream your favorite games because local TV stations like Fox have exclusive broadcast rights. This means games will be blacked out on NBA League Pass.

Solution? Get PIA VPN and connect to a server in another U.S. state. This way, you’ll be able to access live NBA League Pass games securely on any network, including unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots.

PIA VPN is fully compatible with NFL Game Pass, MLB.TV, NBA League Pass, and other streaming services. It helps you enjoy safe, private access to your favorite live game events with servers in 84 countries. Having multiple servers at your fingertips means faster connection speeds and no server overcrowding during internet peak times.

But what’s the point of having secure access to your favorite streaming platform, if you end up with a pixelated show? This is where PIA VPN comes in handy again. It uses next-generation VPN servers optimized for 10 Gbps connection speeds so you won’t experience buffering or freezing.

PIA VPN also helps you stream sports events securely on all your devices. You can install it on up to 10 devices at the same time. The app is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. You can even get PIA on your router and stream safely on your Smart TV.

Get Blazing-Fast Speeds While Watching Sports with a VPN

Have you noticed slow speeds when you stream sports events? Does the video take ages to load? And when it loads, does it start buffering out of nowhere? Your Internet service provider (ISP) might be throttling your streaming video traffic.

Easy fix? Turn PIA VPN on and stream without your ISP slowing your connection. You can enjoy faster speeds and no more ISP content-based throttling. Wave goodbye to buffering!

PIA VPN doesn’t impose any caps on your bandwidth, so you are free to stream as many NFL, MLB, and NBA games as you want.

To make sure you’ll experience the best sports streaming experience, PIA VPN offers only the best protocols like OpenVPN and WireGuard®. These protocols ensure you get smooth, stable connections when you stream your favorite sports events in 4K with PIA VPN.

Other Benefits That Come with PIA VPN

Aside from helping you stream sports events securely on any network with no blackouts, PIA VPN protects your digital privacy and online security. It uses 256-bit AES encryption to safeguard your internet data.

Encryption stops your ISP from seeing your internet traffic and logging your browsing history. This way, your digital identity remains private when you go online. Encryption also helps you prevent cybercriminals from stealing your personal data like passwords and bank accounts, even on unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

If you have got an Apple device recently, then you must have realized by now that your Apple ID is your ticket to your Apple ecosystem, including all the services like Apple TV, Apple Music, apps, iTunes, etc.

Now, there will be times, when you would definitely wish to possess multiple Apple ID’s just like every other interface in order to switch to keep your personal uses (like maintaining contacts, downloads, videos, etc.) and professional tasks (like, editing files, sending emails, etc.) totally separate.

Fortunately, Apple allows users to do that.

What Exactly Happens when you Switch Apple ID’s?

When you switch between Apple IDs on your iPhone or iPad, most of your contents will remain, for instance, calendars, contacts, photos, videos, apps, books, music, subscriptions, etc.

But updating apps or services will be a problem if you are logged into a different iTunes of App store than the one you purchased them on.

There is a hack to it. While you are signed in to a different Apple ID, you are allowed to merge the contents present on your Apple device with the iCloud server associated with the new Apple ID. So make sure to save your contents from your previous account on your iPhone or iPad before signing in to the new ID. Once you are signed in to the new ID, merge your contents from your device to iCloud, and you are ready to go.

The article will proceed in two parts.

#1: How to sign out of your current Apple ID?

Step 1. Firstly, launch your “Settings” app.

Step 2. Tap on your “Apple username ID” at the top left corner.

Step 3. In the new Window, scroll down and tap the “Sign-out” button.

Step 4. Tap “Sign out of iCloud” if you have got a separate account for your iCloud, iTunes, etc. or else switch to the next step.

Step 5. Type the “Apple ID password” of your current account.

Step 6. Tap the “Turn off” button from “Find my iPhone”.

Step 7. Ensure, that you toggle on the option which allows you to save data locally on your device. So that when you switch to the new Apple ID, you will be able to merge your contents with your new Apple ID.

Step 8. Finally, tap “Sign out” two times to confirm that you really wish to “Sign out”. They need to be sure, you know.!@@.@#!#..

You are done for now. Get to the new part now.

#2: How to Sign in with a different Apple ID?

Step 1. Open the “Settings” app and go to the “Sign in to your iPad (or iPhone)” option and tap it.

Step 2. Select the “Email” option and enter the exact email ID which is associated with your new Apple ID.

Step 3. Enter the already created password for the latest account.

Step 4. Tap the “Merge” option while shown to merge all your device’s contents with the new ID server, or just select the “Don’t Merge” option to avoid it.

Lo! you are done……

Conclusion:

As you can see, switching Apple ID on Apple devices is pretty simple, provided that you remember the passwords for the accounts. For extra security measures, make sure to use 2FA verification to avoid any technical mayhem.

Needless to say, WhatsApp groups have become a daily part of our life where we can share a single message, a video, audio, an image, or any essential information with tons of people in one simple tap.

But the feature apart from being a matter of convenience creates a lot of frustrations to the participants who are added without their consent. The feature is heavily exploited when tons of people are added in groups who usually tend to sell products or any services without any of your permission and you have got literally no interest to reciprocate the notifications……..

Trust me, we all can feel that.

The situation gets worsened when you are added by someone you know closely, and now you deliberately feel it rude to exit the group as you wish neither to participate nor you mean to offend them.

Here, the simple suggestion would be to have a filter enabled in the application which can directly stop people from adding you without your permission.

Is it possible to do so?

Earlier it was not, in the older versions of WhatsApp. Thankfully in the latest versions of this application, there is a setting that you can implement in the privacy section of your WhatsApp account. It will simply spare you the trouble of getting added to random, unknown groups.

How to Enable the Settings in the Privacy Section to Prevent Users from Adding you To Random Groups?

The process is pretty simple. Yet, it is important to note that, despite tweaking the setting, admins from unknown groups shall still be able to send you invitations and press you to accept their invitations over and over again.

It will be totally up to you thereafter whether you would like to accept the invitation or to avoid them…… It would be smart enough to avoid them in simpler terms.

The method is very simple, even a novice can do it very easily. Just give the description below a thorough reading:

Step 1. Open your WhatsApp application on your phone. Tap on the three-dot icon at the upper right corner of the app interface.

Step 2. From the drop-down menu that appears, tap the “Settings” and then select “Account”.

Step 3. Go to “Privacy” and then choose “Groups”. You will find the default setting to be set to “Everyone”.

Step 4. You can choose any of the three options shown- “Everyone”, “My Contacts”, “My Contacts except”.

The “Everyone” option lets any random guy to add you to their groups without your permission.

The “My Contacts” option lets only those users add you to groups whose numbers you have saved in your phone.

The last option “My Contacts except” lets you drool with further filtering and enables you to choose from your contact list as to exactly who can add you to a group and delist the contacts you don’t wish to be added by.

Conclusion:
The method or the trick aforementioned can only save you the trouble of getting added by unknown users, but still, many such intruders will linger around who will keep on nudging you with continuous invitations here and there. That is something, no one can really help you with.
In case, someone is excessively disturbing you, you must take the matter seriously and in legal terms. That’s the only option we can suggest to you in times of extremity.

Apart from having a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) technology in your computer, you still need the secure boot feature enabled to upgrade your current operating system to Windows 11.

But before we dig deeper to the discussion, it is necessary to understand what this Secure Boot feature is.

What is Secure Boot?

In a nutshell, it is a feature introduced by Microsoft in UEFI-based computers. If activated and fully configured, this feature can resist malware and attacks from unknown sources.

It detects abrupt tampering with boot loaders, unauthorized ROM options by checking their digital signatures. The detected issues are then blocked to fortify the system from unprecedented malware infection.

Secure Boot only allows the PC to boot with reliable software from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
But regardless of all the beneficial experiences, the feature obstructs you if enabled from running operating systems like Linux.
In this article, we will walk you through ways to first check if it is enabled or not to the ways to upgrade your OS using Secure Boot.

How to Check Secure Boot If Enabled or Disabled?

Just go through the steps detailed below, and make sure to stick to it to avoid any firmware mayhem.

Step 1. Go to the “search” option and type “System Information”.
Step 2. Select the top option from the search result.
Step 3. From the left side pane, click on the “System Summary” option.
Step 4. Now, check the “Secure Boot State”. If it shows ON, it is obviously Enabled. If it displays OFF, it is Disabled or unavailable in some cases.

How to Enable the Secure Mode Feature?

If the Secure Boot feature is disabled, then surely you can enable it, provided your BIOS set-up is UEFI.

NOTE: This method is a bit risky since altering the incorrect firmware settings can hinder your system from booting appropriately. So you need to have a good reason to access your motherboard if needed. Above all, you should be aware of what you are doing and then proceed with caution.

Step 1. Go to “Settings”.
Step 2. Click on the “Update and Security” button.
Step 3 Click on the “Recovery” option.
Step 4. Now look for the “Advanced Startup” section, check for the “Restart Now” button, and then click on it.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8231" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 5. On the blue screen that shows up next, click on the “Troubleshoot” option.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8232" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/3-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 6. Click on the “Advanced options”.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8233" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/4-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 7. Click on the “UEFI firmware settings” option.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8234" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/5-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11? Step 9. Now either go to the Boot menu or security settings.
Step 10. Choose the “Secure Boot” option and hit “Enter”.
Step 11. Select the “Enabled” option and hit “Enter” one more time.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-8236" src="https://andowmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/7-1.jpg" alt="How to Enable Secure Boot on Windows 10 PC to install Windows 11?
Step 12. Exit your UEFI or Settings page interface and confirm the changes you just made to reboot your computer.
After your system restarts, you will find this feature enabled on your computer.

Now your device is ready for an upgrade to Windows 11 OS version.

Conclusion:
As a matter of fact, you can enable the Secure Boot by booting into the UEFI boot mode during the startup, instead of tampering with the Settings.

Secure Boot enabling is all about giving you the access to upgrade your current OS to Windows 11. But before you set out to do that, make sure that the Windows 11 preview will be a helpful and suitable operating system environment or not.

In case it turns out to be an impediment after your upgrade, there is a guided article on this website where you can learn how to roll back to Windows 10 version from Windows 11.

If you are not satisfied with the current status of freshly installed Windows 11 on your computer, there are two ways to switch back to Windows 10 version.

YES……….. It is possible.

Although, the Windows 11 previews are already available on various platforms which instigated many users to install it on their devices. Yet, there might surface some issues related to compatibility, bugs, etc since these are pre-releases that are often released with unfinished features. This, in the long run, can affect your system negatively.

So, if you are confronting troubles with your recent build, and wish to roll back to the stable Windows 10 OS version, you can do that, provided certain conditions are met in the process.

The process of switching back to Windows 10 depends on the way you upgraded your system in the first place. You can use the Recovery Settings, where the backup created the previous installation of Windows 10 automatically while you were upgrading the system. The only issue is that the backup is available for only 10 days after the upgrade is done. After this period, the system will automatically remove the backup installation file to free up space.

In case, this option is not available anymore, there is still an alternative to roll back to Windows 10. But you have to perform full re-installation of the system.

In this article, we will walk you through both the ways, first via Recovery Settings, and second by full reinstallation.

Method #1: How to Rollback to Windows 10 via Settings

As mentioned earlier, this method is only applicable within 10 days of your upgrade. So, if you are in that period, follow the steps of this method:

Step 1. Go to “Settings”.
Step 2. Click on the “System” option.
Step 3. Click on the “Recovery” panel on the right side.

Step 4. Under the “Recovery options” on the right side, click on the “Go back” button in the “Previous version of Windows”.

NOTE: In case, this option is not available, then you are left with no choice but to perform a reinstallation of the OS.
Step 5. A blue screen with various options will turn up. Tick the “Earlier builds seemed more reliable” checkbox.

Step 6. Click the “Next” button.
Step 7. Click the “No, thanks” option on being asked for more updates.

Step 8. Again, click the “Next” button.

Step 9. Click the “Next” button on the “Don’t get locked out” page.

Step 10. Finally, on the last page of successive operations, click the “Go back to earlier build button”.

Once you are done with these steps, the system will revert back to the previous Windows 10 OS version using the back installation file.

Though, the process does really do the wonder but don’t rely on it completely. Always keep a backup on a hard drive or cloud storage device. So that you don’t have to wait for this 10 days shortage period. You can do perform the same job 10 days later also.

Method #2: How to Roll back to Windows 10 Via Reinstallation

If it’s been more than 10 days since you upgraded to Windows 11 OS, the system has most probably removed the necessary files from the previous installation. In that case, the only plausible way to degrade back to Windows 10 is to perform a reinstallation of Windows 10.
Use the steps detailed below with utter precision to avoid any technical mishap:

Step 1. Go to “Windows 10 download” page.
Step 2. Click the “Download tool now” option under the “Create Windows 10 install media” label.

Step 3. Now, you have to double-click the “MediaCreationTool21H1.exe” file. This will commence the setup.
Step 4. Click on the “Accept” button and then choose the “Upgrade this PC now” option.

Step 5. So, click the “Next” button again, and then the “Accept” button once more. Quite a pesky job I know…##@@
Step 6. Now, choose the “Nothing” option as we are about to do a clean and total reinstallation.

Step 7. Click the “Next” and then the “Install” button.

And this is where it actually ends.

Sigh of relief.

So, once these many steps are completed, Windows 10 OS will be restored on your computer as the fresh operating system installation.
Now, you have to create a new user account, configure your preferences. You can then try fetching the previous personal files from your backup IF POSSIBLE.

Conclusion:

Let’s just suppose, you don’t wish to follow the long tracks of the second method, then alternatively, you can use USB media to perform the same reinstallation. The only condition, in this case, is that you need to possess an already prepared USB stick with Windows 10 installation files.
How to do that?
Well, we will discuss it in another article. Till then, try the methods discussed above, and keep visiting our website to follow up more guided articles.

If you have purchased a new device, it usually comes with Windows 10 preinstalled and activated with a license. But, if you are about to build a brand new system by purchasing and assembling parts yourself, then you may need to provide Windows 10 license might cost you nearly a hundred or more dollars.

Ok, now let’s just suppose, you already have a system installed with Windows 10 OS fully activated. Then it’s just a matter of transferring the license from the older device to your newer device, and this can be done easily. Not only that, it will save you a lot of bucks and unnecessary troubles.

This trick to transferring an existing Windows 10 license to another device not just saves your money, it also comes in handy, especially when you are planning to sell your old computer and purchase a new one.

But before we begin to learn the method explained below, make sure to first learn how you obtained the Windows license in the first place. Mark my words, that seriously matters under Microsoft’s rules.

So, first, you need to make sure if your Windows 10 product key or license is transferrable or not.

How to Know if you can Transfer the Windows 10 license to a New Device?

Microsoft usually tends to distribute its license through various channels. But the most common of all such channels are Retail and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), through which a consumer can obtain the product key.

If you had obtained a Retail license, then you are the rightful consumer, entitled to transfer your product key. You can also use the product key while upgrading from Windows 8.1 or 7 to Windows 10 version.

But in case, you got the Windows 10 OS pre-installed while purchasing from your laptop, which usually these days come with pre-installed operating systems, then it is the case of OEM license.

In this case, your product isn’t transferable. Let’s suppose, if you have purchased an upgrade off the Microsoft Store while upgrading from Windows 10 pro to home edition, then you can transfer the license later on to a new device. This becomes possible because the product key turns into a digital key synched with your Microsoft Account.

How to Transfer Product Key from one Computer to Another?

This scenario is only possible when you have a retail license that is transferable. You just have to wear out the operating system from the previous computer and apply it to the new computer.

Deactivate Windows 10 from the previous setup

Step 1. Type “cmd” in the Windows search button.
Step 2. On the top result shown as “Command prompt”, right-click to select “Run as administrator”. This will allow you to access all the features of the tool.
Step 3. When the black dialogue box of cmd turns up, type the following command to remove the current product key and hit “Enter”.
slmgr /upk

NOTE: If the “Uninstalled product key successfully” message doesn’t turn up, that means you need to run the command one more time.
Step 4. Next, type the following command to clear the license once and for all from the registry and then hit “Enter”.
slmgr /cpky

Once you have done this much, the product key can now be used in any new device.

Activate Windows 10 on a New Device

Step 1. Open Start.
Step 2. Type “Cmd” and right-click the top result shown to select “Run as administrator”.
Step 3. On the black cmd screen, type the following command to resume your product key and hit “Enter”:
slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

NOTE: In this command, xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx denotes the product key that you are supposed to write.
Step 4. Next, type the following command to confirm the product key activation and hit “Enter”:
slmgr /dlv

Step 5. Immediately, you will get a confirmation status, where it will be displayed that your Windows 10 is fully activated in the new device.
In the meantime, you may need to restart your computer once to complete the protocol.

Conclusion:

One more important thing to add in this context is that when you remove your license from the old setup, it won’t remove the activation from the Microsoft servers. Rather, the process will stop the detection of the same product key on the device, allowing you to reactivate it on another device.

The reactivation of the product key can also be done using your Microsoft account, provided you do possess a Microsoft account.
