Five ways to add SSD speed to your laptop without losing storage capacity

1
A flash Ram that is based on SSD gives computers a fantastic speed, however, the gigabyte that is associated with it is quite expensive and beyond the range of many people. On the contrary, we have the traditional platter type hard drive that use to storage a lot of data and was also very affordable. Now, if both of these things are smartly used in one system, then user can actually experience massive hard drive’s capacity that too without compromising with the performance standard.

The concept works only when there is possibility to install two drives in single computer system. Usually, we find this option only in laptops with wider memory. In exceptional cases some of the laptops that are affordable also successful supports the 2.5-inch hard drive/SSD. This is not the end; they also have an option to support the flash-only mSATA. Further, the makers of personal computers fill up the gaps depending on what exactly need to be purchased. Still there remains an option for the user to and then successfully run the hard drive, now what if the users have an old laptop comprising of single device that successfully supports only one hard drive. Let’s have a look on some of the solutions that will resolve the problem statement.

Two-in-One Hybrid Drive

Most of the people are not aware of the fact that devices, such as  Western Digital’s WD Black uses two big drives, one is SSD and an another hard drive. They put this in one container along with a SATA connector. This makes an ultimate combination because finally user gets a system that has both speed as well as mass storage at once. However, there are some limitations that are being associated with it, firstly the hybrid encounters constant problems and secondly it requires some software setup for proper functioning.

Cached Hybrid Drive

As most of us are familiar with 2 in 1 devices, theses drives also work in the similar manner i.e. combines two different technologies and work with the combination obtained. The difference lies in the way these techniques are used or employed. In some drives flash RAM is used a cache to speed up the hard drive, this is so because they are consider as a single drive by both PCs and windows.

Internal SSD and External Hard Drive

This is supposed to be the cheapest and the convenient solution. On the contrary, it is also one of the slowest solutions. Simply install SSD, put together windows, programs and required data. Rest everything is transferred to the external drive.

Network Storage

One can also buy network attached storage and install them in one or multiple hard drives and then connect it through the router. This way users can access their files on their own network that to in minimum time and with convenience.

Large SSD

This is the most expensive option because SSD cost somewhere between $300 for 960GB. However, at the same time this is the simplest and fastest option that one can opt for.
