How to Delete Your Voice Recordings to Google Assistant?
It sounds quite creepy I presume to have someone listening to your audio recordings, but Google has admitted that they hire contractors to listen to these anonymous audio recordings. They keep these recordings to improve the quality of their Assistant voice and to determine new feature to add.
Few companies let you delete those recordings, and Google is one of them. Some companies like Amazon or apple do not give you much choice, so you can understand which one would be safer to use when it comes to securing privacy.
If you look deep enough you will find that not only your voice activities like who you called, and what you said but Google Map is keeping track of your movements as well.
So basically just after the Wake word, like “Hey Google” the Google home speaker starts recording everything that you say and sends those recordings to company servers. It is generally stored in My Activity section of your Google account. You can explore the list of these recordings via PC or mobile phone browser.
Here in this article guide, we will demonstrate to you how to delete these voice recordings through PC and Mobile both. Not only that we will guide you on how to stop Google from recording any further activity.

#2: How to Delete Google Assistant Voice Recordings on Mobile
Out of luck, the feature to filter both by date and product is not usually available to Google home app yet. So you can either get to delete commands one at a time, delete everything or you can delete web activity before it piles up.
Follow the step guideline to know it with detail:
Step 1. Visit myactiviy.google.com using any default phone browser. Now you might have multiple Gmail accounts. Make sure to log in with the one which is linked with your Google Home device in particular.
Step 2. Tap the “Filter by data and product” option.
Step 3. Now uncheck all the products and scroll down to the Voice and Audio section.
Step 4. Press the “Voice and audio” option and go back to the top to tap the blue “Magnifying glass” to search.
As you can see the way to enter the recording section is same for both a phone and a PC.
So now from here on, you can delete anything you wish. Whether it is an individual recording, entire day recordings, call activities, its all under your control now. You can also tap the three-dot settings in the search bar to systematically arrange items before deleting them according to month or request.
#3: How to Delete Voice History by Specific Date or Date Range
The method is applicable for both Smartphones and PC. So you can read the generalized step-guideline given below and use it via PC or Phone as per your suitability:
Step 1. Like mentioned before, go to myactivity.google.com using any default web browser. And ensure that you are signed in with the Gmail account associated with the Google Home speaker.
Step 2. Click on the “Settings bar” at the upper left corner of the screen and choose “Delete activity by”.
Step 3. Now select any particular date or date range to delete the recordings.
Step 4. Next, choose “Voice and audio” from the context menu.
Step 5. Finally click on the “Delete” option, followed with “Yes” for confirmation.
#4: How to Turn off Voice and Audio Activity
The good news is that you can stop Google from any further recordings of your Voice activities under Activity Controls in your Google account. This freedom, however, comes with one disadvantage—You will no longer be able to voice search with Google Assistant until you re-enable the feature.
This is you how to do it:
Step 1. Again visit myactivity.google.com.
Step 2. Click the “Settings bar” from the upper left corner.
Step 3. Choose “Activity Controls”.
Step 4. Locate the “Voice and Audio activity” button and toggle the switch on.
Step 5. Now Google will ask you if you are sure about your decision, and you will give you a brief understanding of pausing voice and what audio means. If you wish to do it, click the “Pause” button. If you don’t wish to do it, click the “cancel” button.
Conclusion:
So you can see, unlike other companies, Google gives you a free choice to delete your recordings.
In my personal opinion, deleting the recordings manually is a better option than to disable the feature of automatic recording. That way you will at least be able to use the voice search feature in Google Assistant.
