How to Download Tumblr Audio?
Any user can follow other’s blogs. Although bloggers can render their blog private if they don’t want to make their contents public. Such a feature is provided.
But unfortunately, there is no provision for audio files to download. And today’s article is all about making this possible.
There are certain tricks and trades which you can use indirectly, like installing Add-ons, inspecting URL links, etc to do the job.

Solution #1: Download Using Firefox and Chrome Web Browser Developer Options
In the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox, there are features for Developers options. Here we will use this very feature to download Tumblr audio without any third-party software.
Just follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1. Using Chrome or Firefox go to Tumblr page and locate the audio that you wish to download lately.
Step 2. When the page is fully loaded, click the “Play” button.
Step 3. Here now comes the real part. Right-click on the audio player and select the “Inspect Element” option.
Step 4. In the HTML section, search for a code line appearing to be <audio preload=”auto”>. For instance the HTML section would like:

Step 5. Click on the code line to expand it and copy the entire contents within the src block. In the current example, the HTML section in blue in the previous step represents the required src content. For your convenience, it is also shown below in the image:
Step 6. Now paste the recently copied URL to a new browser tab and click on “Go”.
Step 7. Technically the audio file should begin downloading all by itself. But in case it is not downloading, rather starts playing in the browser, right-click on the audio player icon and select “Save Video as….(Chrome) / “Save Audio as…. (Firefox).
Voila! You are done for now.
Solution #2: Download Audio using Developer Console
The Developer Console is an integrated environment included within the web browser for development with certain tools. You can use them test apps, debug, etc. But here we will select out the URL needed for downloading the audio file.
So this is what you have to do:
Step 1. Open your default browser (Chrome or Firefox) and visit the Tumblr page. Choose the audio file that you want to save.
Step 2. Press F12 to open the Developer Console or you can right-click anywhere on the screen and select “Inspect Element” from the context menu.
Step 3. Now go to the “Network” tab. If you find any requests still loading, wait for a moment to finish the loading.
Step 4. Switch back to the Tumblr web page and click on the “Play” button of the audio file. You will find a new URL appearing in the Network tab.
Step 5. Right-click on the link and select “Open Link in New Tab”.
Step 6. Now in the newly opened tab, right-click on the audio player icon, and choose “Save Video as….. (Chrome)/ “Save Audio as…. (Firefox).
The downloading will start automatically. So wait till the downloading is finished and then enjoy the audio.
Solution #3: Download Audio using Browser Extension/ Add-Ons
By installing the extensions or plug-ins, the option for downloading will automatically turn up every time you access an audio file. But we will show the approach for both Firefox and Chrome.
Firefox:
Step 1. Go to this link given below and download the Greasemonkey Add-on for your Firefox browser:

Step 2. Now restart your Firefox browser, and this time you will get to see a new monkey icon the right sidebar. Ensure that the “Enable” option is checked.
Step 3. Go to this link https://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/29860 and download the extension TumTaster.
Step 4. Now finally restart your Firefox and go to the Tumblr page and select the audio or music. You will get to see a message informing you that you are now able to download. Just click on it and you are good to go.
Chrome:
Step 1. TumTaster is available for Google Chrome also. install it from the link given below:

Step 2. Now go to the audio file that you want to download from the Tumblr webpage. The “click to download” button will now appear. Right-click on it and choose “Save link as…” option from the context menu to save the audio file into your local drive.
And you are done.
