How to Transfer Contacts from iPhone to Android
Recently, too many high specification Android smartphones has hit the market. So, if you are an Apple user and wish to switch to Android then this would be the best time. On the other hand, if you have already switched to Android from iPhone then the first hurdle that you guys may have faced is to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android. Contacts are indeed the most important and essential part of your life to communicate with anyone unless you have the memory of a super human being who can memorize all the contacts.
Anyways, in this short guide, I will show you how to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android in no time and the methods are quite simple and you don’t have to be a computer genius to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android. We will share few methods in this tutorial and you can implement whatever is comfortable for you.
Part 1. Using iCloud
This part requires an iCloud.com account, so if you have an account already then only this part is valid for you. If you don’t have an iCloud account then skip to the other methods.
Here’s how to use iCloud to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android:
Step 1. Go to iCloud.com from a working computer.
Step 2. Go to contacts and select which contacts you wish to transfer. Alternatively if you wish to transfer all contacts then click on the little gear icon from the bottom corner of the page.
Step 3. Click on “Export vCard” and download the file. This file contains all the contacts you stored in your iPhone.
Step 4. Copy this file to your Android phone both via connecting your Android phone to PC using a USB data cable or you can send the vCard file via email and download it from your Android phone. In short, you just need to get that file into your Android phone.
Step 5. Android smartphones has in-built vCard reader. So simply, locate the file where you have saved and open it via contacts application when you are asked.
Step 6. Wait until all the contacts are imported and you can check the contacts list after that to see all contacts are transferred.
This part is really easy and efficient if you are an iCloud user. If not, then move on to the next part.
Part 2. Using an App
There is an app that is available on both Apple and Google Play store that helps to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android smartphones. Although, you don’t need to install anything on your Android phone. Simply follow these steps and you should be able to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android smartphone in a blink of an eye.
Step 1. Download and install the app named “My Contacts Backup”. Simply search this name on Apple play store and it should appear on the top of the list.
Step 2. Launch the app from your iPhone and grant permission when it asks to access contacts.
Step 3. Touch on Backup.
Step 4. Touch on email and upload the VCF into your email. Now you can send the email to yourself or save it as a draft.
Step 5. Now download this VCF file into your Android phone from your email.
Step 6. Open the VCF file on your Android smartphone and choose open with “Contacts” application when asked.
Step 7. The contacts will be automatically imported to your Android smartphone. You can open the contacts and all names should appear.
